Purchasing and Planning Supervisor Position Overview: The Purchasing and Planning Manager will lead the supply chain optimization efforts aimed at improving capacity readiness, reducing costs and improving inventory efficiencies while maintaining high levels of customer service. The position is will enhance service for all orders by providing accuracy and on time delivery, as well as assist in the procurement process for all finished goods and other components.
Essential Functions: Collaborates with inventory and planning staff to ensure proper inventory levels, supply chain efficiencies, and on time delivery to customers. Accurate and on-time procurement of finished goods and all components. Ensure customer service is informed of all inventory arrival dates Ensure all inventory arrival dates are maintained in the ERP system Utilizes MRP in purchasing of finished goods, including new orders, cancellations and movements. Issue Purchase Orders and Production Orders for custom made goods, finished goods and raw materials as within 24 hours or same day Work with other managers to set direction for operational standards towards turn time and accuracy. Provides guidance and support to Supply Chain Planners in performing daily tasks such as receiving inventory and creating deliveries Report metrics toward continuous improvement for on-time deliveries of materials and finished goods on a weekly and monthly basis. Reconcile GL accounts Review and access daily all open and released custom sales orders Ensure backorder are released to the warehouse within 24 hours or same day Interact with the planning department, production department and multiple vendors to optimize turn times. Support standard process and policy development in all SC functions. Support product costing and analysis functions General Requirements: 1. Promote and educate others in the areas of operations. 2. Responsible to manage team members towards set goals of customer satisfaction. 3. Handle additional responsibilities and projects as directed by the COO. Requirements: 1. Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or equivalent related work experience 2. Minimum 4 years of apparel or textile industry experience. 3. Solid understanding of accounting. 4. Ability to provide cohesive written and verbal communication, organizational, computer, and analytical skills. 5. Ability to work in systems, eg MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and enterprise resource planning systems 6. Ability to uphold Safety standards, participate in Continuous Process Improvement on the job, and follow our Manufacturing best practices 7. Ability to get along with others, be punctual, and follow instructions 8.
